Mark Cridland

I have been a Radio Presenter and Producer since 2000 when I joined the Gateway Hospital Broadcasting Service (Dover & Deal’s Hospital Radio). When the station was shut down due to the downgrading of Buckland Hospital, I went on to presenting radio shows on a few different online radio stations in the USA remotely from home which I did for a few years. In 2013, I was contacted by DCR co-founder, Terry Cleaver inviting me to join DCR. I started by producing the local news sections before being offered a Monday night slot to host a rock show concentrating on new rock, metal and punk music. This evolved into The Rock Out which continues to be broadcast on DCR. Along with some technical gurus, I created the facilities to be able to have local bands performing live on air on my rock show. I was then offered a Friday evening slot to create something different alongside my rock show. This became Living The Dream Live which was a fun, lively show designed to get listeners over the stresses of work and ready for the weekend. I was joined by local comedians, Adam Morrison Jones and Paul Tingey along with regular guests who were “living the dream” including Arron Crascall. I have also presented a Sunday night show on Channel Radio in Dymchurch which included interviews with Kent based musicians performing their own acoustic music live on air each week. In 2016 I was given the opportunity to help set up another community radio station, Deal Radio. As well as being a co-founder, I became the Programme Controller, responsible for all of the radio station’s output. I continued here for two years before health issues led to me needing to reduce my voluntary commitments. In 2022, when DCR was awarded it’s FM licence I was given the opportunity to create a new live radio show which is on Saturday mornings 10am – midday. I have features such as the Three-Question Quiz, The Mid-Morning Musical, my Kent Band of The Week, the Weird News of the week and loads of great chart music from the 90s to now. The Rock Out plays all the best in brand new Rock, Metal and Punk music every Wednesday from 10pm on DCR FM. Saturday Mornings on DCR with Mark Cridland is LIVE every Saturday from 10am on DCR FM.
