Mick Jones “The Irish Rover”

I am Mick Jones, a proud member of DCR, the community radio station serving Dover, Deal, Sandwich, and the surrounding areas. Over the past seven years, I have dedicated myself to this station, currently holding the roles of Membership Officer and Director within the organization. My passion for music dates back to the early sixties, influenced by iconic stations such as Radio Caroline and Radio Luxembourg. This love for music led me to my beginnings in hospital radio and later to local ventures like Coastline FM and the festive Radio Cracker, which held a one-month license. Currently, I host a regular show every Friday from nine to twelve, where I’ve earned the moniker “Irish Rover” in honour of my Irish heritage. On this show, I curate a diverse selection of fantastic music spanning generations. DCR is a growing radio station that holds a special place in my heart.
