The Programme Four productions, playing in repertory across the weekend, offer audiences the chance to see one show or all four:
17th July 7pm : A Midsummer Night’s Dream Shakespeare’s most magical and irresistible comedy. Lovers flee into an enchanted forest, mischievous fairies wreak havoc, and a hapless troupe of amateur actors steal every scene. Bewitching, hilarious and utterly timeless.
18th July 2pm Matinee: The Comedy of Errors Two sets of identical twins, a city in chaos, and a plot that spirals into glorious, breathless farce. Shakespeare’s most relentlessly funny play, performed with the pace and precision it demands.
18th July 7pm: The 39 Steps The madcap, Monty Python-esque theatrical adaptation of John Buchan’s classic 1915 novel, made famous on screen by Alfred Hitchcock in 1935. A breathless who-dunnit played for maximum comedy, with four actors playing every last character with anarchic, slapstick glee. This is a benefit performance to raise funds for the nursery garden.
Tickets include a glass of fizz on arrival and an initiation to the 39 Steps afterparty.
