DCR at the New Year, New Hobby Event

Article

Last week, the DCR team attended the New Year, New Hobby event, a fantastic showcase of local groups, projects, and community-led activity from across the district.

With so many organisations represented, it was a great opportunity to speak directly to the people behind the groups that help make our local area such a vibrant place to live.

Interviews recorded

During the event, Martin Turner recorded 14 interviews with community groups and organisers. These conversations will be published on the DCR website, giving each group a space to share what they do and how people can get involved.

The interviews will also be brought together into a one-hour radio special, which will be broadcast on DCR FM at a later date.

Groups featured include:

  • The SMART Project
  • Dover Transport Museum
  • Kent Wildlife Trust
  • National Trust
  • Dover Rugby Club
  • White Cliffs Countryside Project
  • The Chatty Café Scheme
  • Christian Music Ministries
  • Dover Amateur Radio Club
  • Knit and Natter at the Riverside
  • SFX Hobby
  • Event organiser Anita Sedgwick from Dover District Council
  • Dover Big Local
  • Dover Film Festival

What happens next

The interviews will be released on the DCR website in stages, alongside audio content.

Each release, along with details of the one-hour DCR FM radio special, will be shared across our social channels as the content goes live.
