Mark Stafford
A unique mix of the best music from the 1960s, to the early 1990s.
Mark Stafford began his radio career in the late 1970s. In the 1980s he managed the RBL International Service, broadcasting legally on FM from Boulogne to listeners across England’s South Coast.
During the 1990s he became a key voice on Invicta Supergold and Invicta FM, at a time when Invicta FM ranked among the UK’s top independent local stations.
He later co‑founded Europe’s first satellite rock station, European Klassik Rock (EKR), broadcasting from Maidstone Studios. As Head of Music, Mark shaped the station’s sound and presented alongside legends including Dave Cash and Emperor Rosko.
In 2006 he launched Stafford’s World, following nearly a decade of satellite broadcasting with EKR and Radio Caroline. The show blends AOR, adult rock and quality pop/rock, continuing the style of his specialist programmes dating back to 1997.
A standout feature is The Rock Flashback — a 90‑minute journey into a single month in rock history, featuring US and UK chart highlights and the headlines of the time. Alongside the classics, the show champions new releases from established artists and emerging talent.
You can hear Mark Stafford on DCRFM throughout the week. Check our schedule for upcoming shows.
